Hugel is one of the best-known and oldest wine producers in Alsace and was established in 1639 and is now run by the 12th and 13th generations. The Hugels are based in Riquewihr and own over 26 Hectares of vineyard mostly planted with Riesling and Gewürztraminer. In addition to its own estates, the Hugel family purchases grapes from growers under long-term contract, farming more than 100 hectares. Thanks to the skill of their growers, a dozen of the best villages of Alsace thereby contribute to the quality of "Hugel" wines.
