The Languedoc region is the most important in France in terms of volume of wine produced and for the impact on the region's economy. It comprises the three départements of the Aude, Hérault and Gard and comprises about one third of all French vineyards. The region only produces about 10% of France's AC wines: Fitou, Corbières, Minervois and Coteaux du Languedoc, the rest is sold as Vin de Table or Vin de Pays (often labelled as Vin de Pays d'Oc).
